Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that owing to the efflux of time and the subsequent developments that have taken place during the pendency of the present writ petition, the cause of action originally giving rise to the filing of the petition no longer survives. It is, therefore, contended that the present writ petition has become infructuous. 2.
