The Petitioner – detenu – Suresha @ Peddappa (CTP No.12019) is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: (a) Issue a Writ of Certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order, or direction, quashing the Impugned Endorsement bearing No: CPB/CTP-Sec/277/2026 dated 02-02-2026 issued by the Respondent No. 2 produced herewith as Annexure-B. (b) Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order, or direction, commanding the Respondents to release the Petitioner Convict Prisoner No. 12019 on General Parole for a period of 90 days to enable him to meet and maintain essential relationships with his family members (c) Pass such other orders as this Honourable Court deems fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:31393 WP No. 17134 of 2026 2. The detenu had been convicted in S.C.No.5007/2016 for offence under Section 302, 201 r/w 34 IPC by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ramanagara (sitting at Kanakapura) and sentenced on 29.08.2020 with the highest of the sentence being imprisonment for life. The detenu has served a period of 10 years 3 months 15 days of imprisonment as on 03.03.2026 and his conduct in jail is said to be satisfactory. The petitioner having made an application for parole, the same came to be rejected on account of adverse report having received by the police. 3. A perusal of the imprisonment certificate indicates that there is one more proceedings pending against the petitioner for offences under 302, 201, 34 of the IPC in SC No.111/2018. Hence, no fault could be found with the order of Superintendent of Police dated 02.02.2026 at Annexure-B. 4. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed.
