ORAL ORDER
1. Accused nos.1 and 2 in Crime No.31 of 2026 registered by Begur Police Station, Chamarajanagara District, for offence punishable under Section 108 r/w Section 3(5) of BNS, 2023 are before this Court in this petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023 seeking anticipatory bail.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional State Public Prosecutor on behalf of the respondent - State.
3. FIR in Crime no.31 of 2026 was registered by Begur Police Station, Chamarajanagara District for the aforesaid offences against petitioners herein, based on the first information dated 09.02.2026 submitted by Smt. Puttamma, who is the mother of deceased Naveen Kumar. Apprehending

arrest in the said case, petitioners had filed Crl.Misc.No.148 of 2026 before the jurisdictional Sessions Court, which was rejected on 22.04.2026. Therefore, they are before this Court.
4. Perusal of the first information submitted by the mother of the deceased would reveal that petitioner no.1 is the wife of deceased and petitioner no.2 is his mother-in-law. It appears that there was some marital dispute between the deceased and his wife and therefore, a case was filed before the jurisdictional Court at Gundlupete.
5. Allegation in the first information is that when the first informant and deceased had gone to the Gundlupete Court, the deceased had tried to speak to his children, who had come to the Court along with accused nos.1 and 2, but they had not allowed him to speak to them. Subsequently, he had committed suicide on 09.02.2026 by hanging himself.
6. The averments found in the first information are not sufficient so as to prima facie attract the alleged offences as against the petitioners herein. The petitioners, who are ladies

have undertaken to cooperate with the police for the purpose of investigation.
7. Accordingly, the following:
ORDER The Criminal Petition is allowed. The respondent - Police or any other police in the State of Karnataka are directed to release the petitioners in the event of their arrest in Crime No.31 of 2026 registered by Begur Police Station, Chamarajanagara District, for offence punishable under Section 108 r/w Section 3(5) of BNS, 2023, subject to the following conditions:
1. The petitioners shall appear before the Investigating Officer in the present case within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order on executing a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only) each with two sureties for the likesum to the satisfaction of the investigating officer/jurisdictional Court.

2. The petitioners shall regularly appear before the Trial Court without fail unless exempted by the Trial Court for valid reasons.
3. The petitioners shall not tamper with the prosecution witness and they shall co-operate with the Police for investigation and appear before them whenever called upon.
4. The petitioners shall not involve in similar offences in future.
