THIS WRIT PETITION, COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING IN ‘B’ GROUP, THIS DAY, ORDER WAS MADE THEREIN AS UNDER: CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURAJ GOVINDARAJ ORAL ORDER 1. The Petitioner – detenu – Anandh Kiran Sindhe (CTP No.15095) is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: a) Issue a Writ of Certiorari or other appropriate writ or order seeking to quash the endorsement dated 20.06.2025 issued by the Respondent No.2 in Letter No.CPB/CTP-Sec/5306/2025 vide ANNEXURE-Cand consequently, to release the Petitioner on general parole for a period of 90 days. b) Pass any such other order/s as this Hon'ble Court deems fit under the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice & equity. 2. The detenu had been convicted in S.C.No.16/2023 for offences under Section 302, 397 r/w 34 of IPC by the III Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kolar and sentenced on 23.01.2025 with the highest of the sentence being imprisonment for life till his last - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30961 WP No. 16571 of 2026 breath. The detenu has served a period of 2 years 8 months 12 days of imprisonment as on 27.06.2025 and his conduct in jail is said to be satisfactory. The petitioner having made an application for parole, the same came to be rejected on account of adverse report having received by the police. 3. It is also the case of the Petitioner – detenu that an appeal has been filed challenged the order of judgment and sentence of conviction before this Court in Criminal Appeal No.835/2025. 4. A perusal of the imprisonment certificate indicates that the detenu has served only 2 years 8 months 12 days of imprisonment and the sentence imposed is imprisonment till his last breath. 5. A perusal of the police report also indicates that the detenu is not entitled for parole as per the Karnataka Prisons & Correctional Services Manual – 2021. 6. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed.
