Mr. Pralay Hazra …for the petitioner 1. The husband of the petitioner was serving as ex Karmabandhu, KS Roy T.B. Hospital, Kolkata. He expired-in-harness on September 3, 2023. Under wrong advice, the petitioner’s daughter who is a minor, applied for compassionate appointment. The same stood rejected on January 9, 2026. The petitioner has thereafter made an application seeking compassionate appointment which is alleged to be kept pending. 2. It has been submitted that the petitioner is suffering from acute financial crisis and requires the job for her survival. 3. None represents the respondents. Affidavit of service is on record. 4. As it appears that the prayer of the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment is pending consideration before the concerned respondent, accordingly, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the writ petition pending. 5. Hence, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent – Superintendent of KS Roy T.B. Hospital, Kolkata – to take a decision on the petitioner’s prayer seeking compassionate apppointment strictly in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 6. The fate of the petitioner’s application shall be made known to her immediately thereafter. 7. Let a copy of the application along with all supporting documents be forwarded to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court. 8. All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 9.
