The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the CESC Limited not providing an electricity connection to the petitioner. On behalf of the CESC Limited, a Report has been filed, inter alia, highlighting that it is not possible to segregate one consumer from an adjacent consumer because of a large number of consumers and multiplicity of wiring. It is further contended on behalf of the CESC Limited that a block meter has already been installed at the premises of the petitioner. In such circumstances, it is not possible to provide an electricity connection to the petitioner. The petitioner is in occupation of one room 60 sq. ft. approximately and a common bathroom inside a basti premises which is not a contained 2 domestic unit and hence is not entitled to a separate electricity connection. In view of the nature of disputes raised by the parties and the reasons provided by CESC Limited in refusing the electricity connection, there is no scope for interference in this summary jurisdiction. In such circumstances, there is no merit in the writ petition, WPA 10840 of 2026 stands dismissed. (RAVI KRISHAN KAPUR, J.)
