Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, while serving as a Sub-Inspector of Police, was imposed with the penalty of stoppage of two increments with cumulative effect vide order dated 18.06.2025 passed by the Disciplinary Authority upon conclusion of the departmental enquiry. Being aggrieved by the said order, the petitioner preferred a statutory appeal before the Director General of Police on 23.07.2025 (Annexure P/1), which, as per the petitioner, is pending consideration.
2. Learned State counsel submits that if the petitioner's appeal is pending before the competent authority, the same shall be considered and decided in accordance with law within a period of 30 days.
3. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.

In view of the aforesaid submission made on behalf of the State, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Director General of Police to consider and decide the petitioner's pending appeal, by a reasoned order in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
