1. Mr. Bilal Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioners.
2. Mr. Bhaskar Chandra Joshi, learned A.G.A. with Mrs. Sweta Badola Dobhal, learned Brief Holder for the State.
3. By the instant petition the petitioners are praying for the following relief:
“Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of
mandamus directing and commanding the
respondent no. 1 & 2 to provide adequate police
protection to the petitioners from the respondent no.
3 & 5 who wants to do away with the life of
petitioners in the name of family honor. ”
4. It is contended that both the petitioners are major and are in love and have decided to marry with each other but there is a threat perception from respondent nos. 4 and 5, who are the brother and uncle of the petitioner no. 1 since both of them are not in favour of this marriage. The father of the petitioner Mr. Ram Sharan is also present in court.
5. In support of age the Aadhar card has been placed on record and Mr. Joshi, learned A.G.A. after gone through with the Aadhar card submits that both are major.
6. This court interact with the father of the respondent no. 2, who submits that he is in favour of this marriage and in future he will make all efforts to interact with the family members of the petitioner no.

7. Since there is threat perception from respondent nos. 4 and 5, let the S.H.O. make an assessment of threat perception received by the petitioners and to make an arrangement for their protection. The S.H.O. P.S. Manglour, District Haridwar shall call respondent nos. 4 and 5 also to the police station and counsel them not to take law in their hands.
8. Subject to the observation and directions as
aforesaid the petition is disposed of finally.
