Mr. Serto T. Kom, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the applicant; and Mr. Y. Ashang, learned Sr. counsel and PP assisted by Mr. Y. Robert, learned counsel appeared on behalf of the respondents. [2]
The present application has been filed with a prayer for extending the period of interim bail granted by this Court vide
order dated 03.12.2025 in MC(Crl. A) No. 24 of 2025 (Ref Crl. A. No. 18 of 2024) so as to enable the applicant to undergo further medical treatment. [3]
It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the applicant that this Court granted interim bail in favour of the applicant to facilitate his medical treatment after perusal of the report submitted by the Special Medical Board dated 20.10.2025. [4]

interim bail for a period of 3(three) months subject to the condition that on the expiry of the period of 3(three) months, the applicant shall surrender before the Superintendent, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa through the office of the Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi. It has also been made clear that the interim bail will be made effective from the date of released of the applicant on bail. [5]
Mr. Serto T. Kom, learned counsel for the applicant submitted that the applicant was released on bail on 15.01.2026 and 3(three) months period elapsed today, i.e. on 15.04.2026. [6]
The learned counsel also submitted that after consulting the medical expert the applicant has been advised by the concern doctor that another 3(three) months period will be required for his medical treatment since surgical procedure are also required. The learned counsel for the applicant accordingly prays for allowing the present application by extending the period of interim bail for another 3(three) months with effect from today. [7]
Mr. Y. Ashang, learned Sr. counsel and PP appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that as the petitioner/applicant needs to undergo medical treatment including surgery, he has no objection in allowing the prayer of the applicant made in the present application.

The learned Sr. counsel, however, submitted that such extension of the period of bail be subjected to the condition as incorporated in the earlier order dated 03.12.2025 passed by this Court granting interim bail. [9]
Taking in consideration the submission made by the
learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court is of the considered view that it will be in the interest of justice to allow the present application so as to enable the applicant to under for his medical treatment. Accordingly, the period of the interim bail is extended for another 3(three) months with effect from today i.e. 15.04.2026. [10] It is made clear that the conditions imposed by this Court in its earlier order dated 03.12.2025 while granting interim bail shall be applicable during the extension of the bail period. [11] It is also made clear that the petitioner/applicant will surrender before the Superintendent, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa through the office of Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi on expiry of the 3(three) months period as given herein above. [12] With the aforesaid direction, the present application is
disposed of.
