APHC010256272026 IN THE HIGH COURT OF ANDHRA PRADESH AT AMARAVATI WP(PIL) NO: 113 of 2026 Bench Sr.No:-15 [3579] Dr. Srinivas Guntupalli ...Petitioner Vs. The State of Andhra Pradesh and others ...Respondents ********** Advocate for Petitioner : Mr Gadipudi Venkateswarlu representing LEO Law Associates LLP Advocate for Respondents : GP for School Education – R.1 to R.3 Mr Y V Anil Kumar (Central Government Standing Counsel) – R.4 CORAM : THE CHIEF JUSTICE LISA GILL SRI JUSTICE NINALA JAYASURYA DATE : 6th May, 2026 LISA GILL, CJ. Primary argument raised in this petition is that while issuing proceedings dated 16.04.2026, it is provided that English should be the medium of instruction in all Government schools. This direction, it is submitted, is totally opposed to judgment of this Court dated 15.04.2020 in Dr. Srinivas Guntupalli Vs. The State of Andhra Pradesh and others [WP(PIL).Nos.183 & 185 of 2019]. Learned Government Pleader for School Education, at the outset, informs that impugned proceedings dated 16.04.2026 have been modified vide proceedings dated 06.05.2026 to the extent that point No.6 under the caption ‘Benefits provided in Government Schools’ which stated that English is the medium of instruction in all Government schools, is deleted. 2 WP(PIL)-113-2026 Copy of proceedings dated 06.05.2026 furnished in Court today is taken on record subject to just exceptions as Annexure A. Learned counsel for petitioner fairly states that in view of the said proceedings dated 06.05.2026, this WP(PIL) is rendered infructuous. Ordered accordingly. No costs. Pending application(s), if any, stand(s) disposed of accordingly. LISA GILL, CJ NINALA JAYASURYA, J Vjl
