This Writ Petition has been preferred against the order dated 3 16.06.2025 (Annexure P/1) passed by Respondent No.2 in Revenue Case No.202505060100154/A-6/24-25 (Banthu vs. Suresh) whereby, it has been directed that till final disposal of appeal, the SECL-petitioner shall maintain status quo with respect to grant of compensation to the land owners whose land have been acquired under the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition & Development) Act, 1957. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that land of private respondents were acquired by the SECL under the Act of 1957 for Aamgaon Open Cast Coal Mine Project of SECL Bishrampur Area. He submits that subsequently a dispute arose between private respondents Nos. 6 to 32 stemming from a mutation entry dated 14.04.1970. In furtherance of which, Respondent Nos.6 to 10 filed Revenue Case No.202505960100154/A-6/24-25 (Banthu and Others, who are respondent Nos.6 to 10 herein vs. Suresh and others, who are Respondent Nos.11 to 32 herein). The said case is pending as of now. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, according to proceedings details, proceedings were initiated on the said case by the Collector, Surajpur on 29.07.2025 and on the last date of hearing i.e. on 27.04.2026, respondents were given time to file written reply. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that his grievance will be redressed if this Writ Petition is disposed of while directing Collector Surajpur to decide Revenue Case No.202505960100154/A-6/24-25 (Banthu and Others vs. Suresh and Others) in an expeditious manner. 4 5. Learned State counsel submits if the matter is pending before Collector Surajpur, then direction may be issued to him to decide the same expeditiously. 6. Considering the limited prayer made by the petitioner, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to Collector Surajpur to decide Revenue Case No.202505960100154/A-6/24-25 (Banthu and Others vs. Suresh and Others) in an expeditious manner preferably within 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 7.
