Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the principal accused lodged an FIR against the husband of the de facto complainant on 04.02.2026, there are serious allegations of extortion and the like in the present FIR. The petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He relies on the statement of the victim recorded before the learned Magistrate and the other statements and documents present in the case diary. He relies on the memo of evidence, which shows that petitioner has as many as eleven criminal antecedents including cases under the provisions of Section 326 and 307 of the Penal Code. 2 Considering the above and the other incriminating materials available in the case diary, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. Investigation of this case shall be conducted under the direct supervision of the SDPO, Arambagh. Presence of the I.O. is noted and is dispensed with. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order may be delivered to the learned Advocates for the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all formalities. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
