Rakesh Kainthla, Judge The petitioner has filed the present petition for quashing of FIR No. 86 of 2024, dated 20.9.2024, registered at Police Station Kandaghat, District Solan, H.P., for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 332(c), 324(4), and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), based on a compromise arrived at between the parties. 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? Yes. 2 2026:HHC:40318 2. It has been asserted that the petitioner and the informant have compromised the matter with the intervention of respectable persons of the society. The informant does not want to proceed further with the matter after the compromise. Hence, the petition. 3. The statement of the informant/victim, Ajay Singh, was recorded on 14.7.2026, in which he stated that he had entered into a compromise with the petitioner voluntarily, without any influence from any person, and that he had no objection to the quashing of the FIR based on the compromise arrived at between the parties. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record carefully. 5. Sections 118(1), 324(4), and 332(c) of BNS correspond to Sections 324, 427, and 451 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, respectively. Section 359 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) makes the offences punishable under Section 324(4) and Section 332(c) compoundable. Consequently, the present petition is allowed and FIR No. 86 of 2024, dated 20.9.2024, registered at Police Station Kandaghat, District Solan, H.P., for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 332(c), 324(4), and 118(1) of BNS and consequential proceedings pending/initiated against the petitioner-accused in pursuance thereto are quashed. 7. Petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also pending miscellaneous applications, if any. 8.
