JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER The petitioner is seeking a writ of mandamus to direct respondent No.4-Tahsildar, Malavalli Taluk, to act in terms of the order passed by the Assistant Director of Land Records as found at Annexure ‘D’ dated 18.10.2021. 2. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the Assistant Director of Land Records had directed the respondent-Tasildar to assign new Survey No.231 to the lands belonging to the petitioner situated at Gowdagere Village, Kasaba Hobli, Malavalli Taluk, having regard to the orders already passed by the Assistant Commissioner, - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:17866 WP No. 7356 of 2026 Mandya Sub-Division, in proceedings bearing No.RRT:269/ 2019-20 dated 21.01.2020. However, even after lapse of nearly five years, no action has been taken by the Tahsildar. 3. Learned High Court Government Pleader has today filed a memo along with the communication dated 31.03.2026 made by the Tahsildar, Malavalli Taluk, where it is clearly stated that within a period of eight weeks new survey number will be assigned to the lands belonging to the petitioner. 4. Consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of with a specific direction to respondent No.4-Tahsildar, Malavalli Taluk to proceed to assign the new survey number as directed by the Assistant Director of Land Records, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
