Mr. Ravi Prakash, learned counsel appearing for the appellants in Criminal Appeal (DB) No.1514 of 2017 and Criminal Appeal (DB) No.1498 of 2017, has submitted that both the appellant have completed the sentence inflicted in 2026:JHHC:24816-DB 2 consequence of the judgment of conviction. Therefore, he does not intend to press these two appeals. 2. Mr. Abhay Kumar Tiwari, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, appearing for the State, has corroborated the aforesaid fact by referring to the letter received under the seal and signature of Superintendent, Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi dated 17.08.2026 in which it has been mentioned that the appellant Rushi Kansari appellant in Criminal Appeal (DB) No.1514 of 2017 has completed his sentence and has been released from judicial custody. 3. He has also submitted that similar letter of same date has also been received in respect of Chandra Mani Kansari appellant in Criminal Appeal (DB) No.1498 of 2017. 4. In view of the aforesaid, Criminal Appeal (DB) No.1514 of 2017 and Criminal Appeal (DB) No.1498 of 2017 are dismissed as not pressed, accordingly disposed of. 5. Let both letters dated 17.08.2026 received from Superintendent, Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi be kept on record. Cr. Appeal (DB) No.1153 of 2017 6. Mr. Ravi Prakash, learned counsel appearing for the appellant has submitted that the sole appellant since has died and there is no instruction available with him to contest the case through her legal heirs and, as such, the appeal may be abetted. 2026:JHHC:24816-DB 3 7. Mr. Vandana Bharti, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, has submitted that she is having with the death certificate according to which the date of death of the appellant is 27.04.2024. 8.
