The petitioner, through the medium of present petition, seeks quashing/cancellation of bail granted by the court of learned Principal Sessions Judge, Reasi vide order dated 07.01.2026 passed in File No. 180/2025 titled “Imran Ahmed Vs. UT of J&K” whereby accused/respondent herein has been granted interim bail in a case arising out of FIR No. 12/2022 registered at Police Station Mahore for commission of offences punishable under Sections 376 & 458 of IPC. 2. Since the order to which challenge has been thrown is an interim bail order and was upto 27.01.2026, the prosecution should have awaited to contest the matter before the trial court for final determination of the case, instead of filing the present petition, seeking to quash the order granting interim bail. 3. For the aforesaid reasons, the present petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to contest the matter before the trial court. 4. Disposed of, accordingly.
