Firstly, the prayer is made to recover the temple land comprised in Survey No.209/2 and 210/2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the said lands are in occupation of third parties either by way of encroachment or by only paying negligible rent to the Periyamariamman Thirukovil. 2.With reference thereto, the learned counsel appearing for the temple would submit that the temple is in control of the lands the persons are in occupation are the tenants of the temple and the rent is also 2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.6103 of 2026 periodically being fixed. The same is recorded. 3.The second grievance of the petitioner is that during the temple festival, movie songs are played within the temple premises and both men and women are dancing. In this regard, the learned counsel for the temple would submit that no such events or movie songs being played within the premises of the temple or abutting thereto, the same is also recorded. 4.It must be ensured that whenever some music or other programme are arranged in the temple premises or abutting the temple premises, only devotional songs alone be sung. 5.Recording the above submissions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
