1. The petitioner has filed the present writ application for a direction upon the respondent authorities for release of the admitted amount of Rs. 6,20,200/-. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on 21st September, 2020, the Block Development Officer, Mathurapur-II Development Block, South 24 Parganas has issued the work order for reconstruction of kailashpur FP in Nandakumarpur GP under Mathurapur-II Block under the fund of BCW Sl. No.

On receipt of the work order, the petitioner has completed the work and has submitted his bill but in spite of completion of work and submission of bill, the respondent authorities have not paid the amount. Subsequently, the petitioner has made several representation but the authorities have not considered the same. 2
3. This Court by an order dated 15th September, 2025 directed the Block Development Officer to file a report by way of an affidavit. In terms of the said order, the Technical Assistant (MGNREGA), Mathurapur-II Development Block has filed a report by way of an affidavit stating that pursuant to the work order of the Block Development Officer, the petitioner has completed the work with the satisfactory for a total amount of Rs. 6,21,097/-. It is further submitted that the Block Development Officer has already requested the District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas for making necessary arrangement for release of fund so as to enable the Block Development Officer to release the said amount in favour of the petitioner. 4. The petitioner has handed over a communication dated 19th November, 2025 issued by the Block Development Officer to the District Magistrate wherein, it is submitted that the petitioner has executed the work for a total amount of Rs. 6,21,097/- but the payment could not be made due to non-availability of the concerned record and the authorities have traced out the record and found that the petitioner has completed the work. 5.
Considering the report filed by the respondent authorities and the letter dated 19th November, 2025, this Court finds that the authorities have admitted that the petitioner has completed the work for a total
3 amount of Rs. 6,21,097 and it is also admitted that the amount has not released. It is also found that the Block Development Officer requested the District Magistrate for release of the fund so as to enable the Block Development Officer to release the said amount to the petitioner. 6. Accordingly, the respondent No.2/District Magistrate, South 24 Parganas is directed to sanction the said amount within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of this order and on sanction of the said amount, the Block Development Officer is directed to pay the said amount within a period of two weeks from the date of the sanction of the said amount. 7. It is found that since the petitioner has completed the work in year 2020 and the respondents have admitted that the payment has not been made. Accordingly, the respondents are also directed to pay the interest of 6% per annum from the date of completion the work till the realization of the said amount. 8. WPA 20463 of 2025 is disposed of. 9. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 10.
