.…. Respondent(s)
Through: Mr. Sandeep Singh, Advocate for R-2.

ORDER 31.07.2026
1.
Learned counsel appearing for the parties have submitted that the petitioners and private respondent No.2, have amicably settled their dispute. It has further been brought to the notice of this Court that respondent No.2, while filing her objections, has categorically stated that she does not wish to pursue the impugned FIR bearing No.0054/2021 dated 20.10.2021 or the proceedings arising therefrom, including the charge-sheet under Sections 498-A and 109 of the Indian Penal Code, presently pending before the Court of learned Special Railway Magistrate, Jammu.
2. In view of the aforesaid stand taken by the respondent No.2 and the amicable settlement arrived at between the parties, this Court is of the considered opinion that the dispute, being essentially matrimonial in nature between petitioner No.1 and private respondent No.2, has been resolved. Having regard to the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, as well as the unequivocal stand of respondent No.2, no useful purpose would be served by permitting the criminal proceedings to continue.
