The petitioners are before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30973 WP No. 17730 of 2026 a. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order, or direction, directing the Respondent No.3 to consider the representation dated 10.04.2026, submitted by the petitioners vide Annexure-M and to take immediate and appropriate legal action in accordance with law in relating to Hampapurada Sri. Pattaladamma Temple, Hampapura Village, Mandya Taluk, Mandya District. b. Issue such other writ or direction or grant any other reliefs as deemed fit and proper by this Hon'ble Court in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity. 3. The grievance of the petitioners is that the representation dated 10.04.2026 submitted by the petitioners at Annexure-M has not been considered by respondent No.3 till date. 4. Whenever, any representation is submitted by a citizen to an authority, the same is required to be considered and orders are to be passed within a reasonable period of time either by accepting or rejecting the request made. 5. Needless to say, if an order of rejection is made, the same would have to be accompanied by reasons. Though in the present matter the representation has been recently submitted on 10.04.2026 and the petitioners approached this Court in the month of June 2026, I am of the considered opinion that since the representation is - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30973 WP No. 17730 of 2026 pending consideration, a direction could be issued to the respondent No.3 to consider the same within a reasonable period of time. As such, I pass the following: ORDER i) Writ petition is allowed. ii) A mandamus is issued directing respondent No.3 to consider the representation dated 10.04.2026 at Annexure-M submitted by the petitioners within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. iii) It is made clear that this Court has not made any observation as regards the entitlement of the petitioners which would have to be independently assessed by respondent No.3.
