Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. Learned advocate representing petitioner expresses dissatisfaction with regard to the steps taken by the concerned police authorities after complaint was lodged on 4th June, 2026. It is also contended that investigation at present is not being carried out appropriately requiring direction upon the concerned police authorities. 3. However, from the submissions made on behalf of parties and communication dated 16th June, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Metiabruz Police Station it appears that criminal prosecution 2 was initiated being Watgunge Women Police Station Case No. 04 dated 6th June, 2026 under certain provisions of BNS, 2023 and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. It is also submitted before this Court on behalf of respondents that complaint was lodged on 4th June, 2026, FIR was registered on 6th June, 2026 and present writ petition was filed on 9th June, 2026. 4. In view of initiation of criminal proceeding at this stage Court directs the investigating agency to take expeditious steps in connection with the aforesaid prosecution and file report before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date. 5. In the event after filing of report before the jurisdictional Magistrate on completion of investigation petitioner is not satisfied, petitioner shall be at liberty to approach the Court below under Section 193(9) of BNSS, 2023. 6. Writ petition stands disposed of. 7. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
