Jyotsna Rewal Dua, J The petitioner was serving as Lecturer (S/N), Political Science, at Government Senior Secondary School, Guler, District Kangra, H.P. He is aggrieved by the order dated 24.08.2026, whereby he was transferred to Government Senior Secondary School, Saho, Chamba. The ground put forth for assailing the transfer order is that the petitioner has been deployed as a Census Functionary for conducting Census-2027. It was urged that, in view of the office instructions dated 22.05.2026 issued by the respondents, 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? yes 2 those who have been deployed for Census-2027 duty shall not be disturbed till 31.07.2027. Pursuant to the interim order passed on 27.08.2026 in this petition, the petitioner is continuing at his present place of posting. 2. Learned Additional Advocate General has placed on record the office instructions dated 03.09.2026 issued by the Director of School Education. The office instructions do not dispute petitioner's assertion that he has been deployed for Census-2027 duty. This fact is even otherwise apparent from Annexure P-1. In view of the above, the office order dated 24.08.2026 is quashed and set aside qua the petitioner. It shall, however, be open to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for transfer in accordance with law at an appropriate stage. The instant petition to stand disposed of.
