The Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: a) Issue writ of mandamus directing the Respondent No.2 to extend the general parole granted by this Hon'ble Court vide its Order dated 24.03.2026 in W.P.No.4474/2026 (GM-POLICE) as per Annexure 'A' for another 30 days commencing from 06.06.2026. b) Pass such other direction or order as this Hon'ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity. 2. The learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner – convict – Santhosh M.B. @ Sullya Santhosh (CTP No.4221) has served a period of 11 years of imprisonment. The sister of the detenu had approached this Court wherein a Coordinate Bench of this Court had granted parole to the Petitioner herein in WP No.4474/2026 dated 24.03.2026 for a period of 60 days and the detenu was on parole, which expired on 06.06.2026. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30850 WP No. 16023 of 2026 3. The learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner has submitted a representation to Respondent No.2 seeking for extension of parole on the ground that his mother is bedridden and incapable of attending to her daily needs without assistance and she needs further medical treatment, which representation came to be rejected. Hence, the Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the aforesaid reliefs. 4. Taking into consideration that the conduct of the detenu has been satisfactory while incarcerated and there is no particular complaint against the detenu as also the presence of the Petitioner is required for treatment of his mother, this Court passes the following: ORDER i) The Writ Petition is allowed. ii) Respondent–Chief Superintendent, Central Prison, Bangalore, is directed to release the detenu - Santhosh M.B. @ Sullya Santhosh (CTP No.4221) on parole for a period of 30 days commencing from 01.07.2026, subject to the detenu furnishing an undertaking that he shall - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30850 WP No. 16023 of 2026 not indulge in any unlawful activities during the period of parole: iii) The respondents shall impose such stringent conditions as are ordinarily stipulated, including conditions to ensure the timely surrender of the detenu upon expiry of the parole period; iv) Any violation of the conditions imposed shall entail cancellation of parole forthwith; v) Liberty is reserved to the petitioner to seek extension of parole, if permissible in law; vi) The Registry is directed to communicate this order to the jurisdictional prison authorities forthwith, including by electronic mode.
