1. On behalf of State respondents communication dated 16th June, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Haroa Police Station, Basirhat Police District is filed today and same is taken on record. Copy of said communication dated 16th June, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing petitioner.
2. It is disclosed in the communication dated 16th June, 2026 that vehicle having registration no. BR-01-GM-9648 and chassis no. MAT466621J3K52125 is different vehicle and not the vehicle of the petitioner which petitioner missed in the month of February,
2024. However, it is also stated in the communication dated 16th June, 2026 that effort is on to find out the vehicle of the petitioner.

Considering the case made out in the writ petition Court finds that petitioner missed his vehicle in the month of February, 2024 but no contemporaneous complaint was lodged with the concerned police authority. One letter dated 21st November, 2025 is annexed to this writ petition which was received by the police authority.
4. Though there is delay in lodging complaint before the concerned police authority alleging that vehicle of the petitioner was stolen, concerned police authority is directed to make endeavour to find out vehicle of the petitioner and if same is recovered following the norms same shall be handed over to the petitioner.
5. Writ petition stands disposed of.
6. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
