IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI
Cr. M.P. No. 245 of 2026 Raju Turi
--- Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand
--- --- Opp. Party ---
CORAM: Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay ---
For the Petitioner : Mr. Sushant Kr. Sinha, Advocate
For the State
: A.P.P.
-----
02/13.08.2026 Heard Mr. Sushant Kr. Sinha, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P.
This application has been preferred by the petitioner for modification of the order dated 07.08.2023 passed in A.B.A. No.6358 of 2023 by extending the period of surrender for a further period of three weeks from today.
It appears that the petitioner was granted anticipatory bail on 07.08.2023 in A.B.A. No.6358 of 2023 and subsequent thereto since the petitioner could not surrender within the time specified by this Court, an application was preferred being Cr.M.P. No.3477 of 2024 in which vide
order dated 28.08.2025 the period of surrender was extended for a further period of three weeks.
It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the lawyer of the petitioner before the learned trial court had lost his mobile and therefore the earlier order passed in Cr.M.P. No.3477 of 2024 could not be communicated to the petitioner.
The defence which has been taken by the petitioner appears to be absurd. It further appears that though the petitioner was granted anticipatory bail on 07.08.2023, the modification was made on 28.08.2025 and despite extending the period of surrender for a further period of three weeks, the petitioner had once again approached this Court in the year 2026 for further extension of the time.
I do not find any reasons to entertain this application which consequently stands dismissed.
