1. By the present petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction towards the respondent No.2 to consider the petitioner’s representation dated 18/03/2026 for promotion to the post of Assistant Grade-I.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is presently working as Assistant Grade-II in the department of respondent No. 2 and has rendered more than 30 years of service since his initial appointment on 15/01/1996. 2 counsel submits that the petitioner has completed the requisite qualifying service and has already submitted a representation dated 18.03.2026 seeking promotion to the post of Assistant Grade-I, before the respondent No.2. However, till date, no decision has been taken on the said representation. Learned counsel further submits that the respondents may be directed to consider the petitioner's case for promotion with effect from the date on which his juniors were promoted.
3. On the other hand, learned counsel for the respondents submits that in the next Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), the case of the petitioner for promotion will be considered and necessary order will be passed thereafter, in accordance with law.
4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties, perused the pleadings and documents.

Having considered the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the parties and the facts and circumstances of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent authorities to consider the petitioner's case for promotion to the post of Assistant Grade-I in the next meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), and to pass a necessary order in accordance with law, if vacancy arises.
6. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merits of this case, it is for the competent authority to consider
