Smt.Ratna Shivayoginath, learned counsel accepts notice for respondent No.6. 3. Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: a. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or direction directing respondent No.6, the Station House Officer, Channapatna Town Police Station, to register a First Information Report (FIR) forthwith against Dr.Ranjith and other responsible persons/officials of Respondent No.3 General Hospital, Channapatna, in connection with the death of Master Satvik on 30.04.2026. b. Issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing Respondent No.5, the Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru South District, to monitor and supervise the investigation of the aforesaid case and ensure that the same is conducted by a senior officer in a fair, impartial and time-bound manner. c. Issue appropriate directions to Respondent No.1 - the State Government (Department of Health and Family Welfare) - to award compensation of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Crore Only) to the petitioner and his family for the wrongful death of Master Satvik caused - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:31107 WP No. 18670 of 2026 by the admitted negligence of the duty doctor at a Government Hospital. d. Pass such other and further orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case and in the interests of justice. 4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the son of the petitioner having expired on 30.04.2026 due to a snake bite, he alleges that it is on account of negligence on the part of the concerned Doctors, who did not treat the son of the petitioner with anti-snake venom even though available. A complaint had been filed, which is still pending preliminary investigation. 5. In the matters relating to death and when claims have been made, it is but required that the enquiry is conducted at the earliest. The evidence not being available at a later point of time. 6. In the present case, the death having occurred on 30.04.2026, the preliminary investigation is still not completed even after nearly two months, which is not acceptable. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:31107 WP No. 18670 of 2026 7. In that view of the matter, I pass the following; ORDER i) Writ petition is allowed. ii) A mandamus is issued directing respondent No.5 to complete the investigation at the earliest. Respondent No.4 is directed to monitor such investigation to ensure that the investigation is completed at the earlier. iii) If there are any other requirements from respondent No.6 in respect of such investigation, respondent No.6 is directed to co-operate with respondent Nos.4 and 5 for speedy enquiry to be completed preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
