By the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent authorities to consider and decide his application for grant of compassionate appointment on account of the death of his father. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's father died in harness on 02.12.2019. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted an application dated 25.01.2020 (Annexure P-2) seeking compassionate appointment. He submits that despite lapse of considerable time, the said application has neither been considered nor decided by the competent authority and no order has been passed thereon till date. 3. Learned counsel appearing for respondents No.2 & 3/Municipal Corporation, Rajnandgaon submits that if the application submitted by the petitioner is still pending consideration, the same shall be considered and decided in accordance with law within the stipulated period. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the pleadings as well as the documents appended with the writ petition. 5. Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and also taking into account the submission made by learned counsel for the respondent Corporation, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.2 & 3/Municipal Corporation, Rajnandgaon to consider and decide the pending 3 application/representation submitted by the petitioner for compassionate appointment and pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of five weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
