NATARAJ ORAL ORDER The petitioners have sought for a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct respondent No.3 to consider their representations dated 03.01.2026 and to pay compensation in respect of acquisition of land in Sy.Nos.150 of Hulikunte Village, Doddabelavangala Hobli, Doddaballapura Taluk measuring 04 acres each. 2. (i) The petitioners contend that they are the owners of the aforesaid properties, which were acquired by respondent Nos.2 and 3 for the formation of an industrial area - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26029 WP No. 14084 of 2026 in terms of a notification bearing No.s¹L 29 J¸ï¦PÀÆå 2024 dated 18.03.2025 issued under Section 28(4) Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Act, 1966. The petitioners contend that they are entitled to compensation in respect of the acquisition. However, the respondents have not taken any steps to determine and disburse the compensation, which forced the petitioners to submit individual representations dated 03.01.2026. (ii) The petitioners contend that even after receipt of representations and lapse of substantial time, the respondents have not taken any steps to determine and disburse the compensation. The petitioners are therefore before this Court seeking for a direction to the respondents to pass an award and pay compensation in accordance with law. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners reiterated the above contentions and submitted that a direction be issued to the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioners. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:26029 WP No. 14084 of 2026 4. Learned counsel for respondent Nos.2 and 3 submitted that if reasonable time is granted, respondent Nos.2 and 3 will take steps to pass an award and disburse the compensation in accordance with law. 5. In view of the aforesaid submission, this petition is disposed off directing respondent No.3 to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 03.01.2026 and pass an appropriate award and pay compensation in accordance with law. 6.
