No. 5 : Mr. Manoj Tandon, Advocate …...... 03/ 13.08.2026: Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents. 2. The grievance of the petitioner in this writ petition is that no Advocate is accepting his brief in Gumla to appear on his behalf in Consumer Court as the complainant is a lawyer. 3. Mr. Manoj Tandon, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Jharkhand State Bar Council submits that no lawyer can refuse a brief provided he be paid his fees. 4. Ms. Rashika Bhardwaj, learned counsel appears on behalf of respondent No.2- District Bar Association, Gumla refuted the allegation and submits that neither they have adopted any resolution debarring any lawyer to appear on behalf of the petitioner nor in future they will take any such steps to bar any one. She also submits that the petitioner is free to engage any lawyer of his choice to which the Bar Association has got no concern. 5. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the complaint i.e. respondent No.4 submits that he has not influenced any of his colleague in this case nor has requested anyone not to appear on behalf of the petitioner. 6. Considering the aforesaid undertaking and submissions given by the parties, I find that no ground to transfer the Consumer Complaint from District Consumer Forum Gumla to any other place.
