Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the adopted son of late Chandra Bahadur Sharma, who was an JYOTI SHARMA Digitally signed by JYOTI SHARMA Date: 2026.06.25 10:40:34 +0530
2 employee of SECL. He further submits that the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 17.10.2025 before the CMD, SECL, seeking compassionate appointment as well as release of provident fund, gratuity and other consequential monetary benefits, but no action has been taken thereon by the authorities.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent/SECL submits that though the petitioner has submitted representation before the CMD, SECL, the competent authority in the matter is the Chief General Manager, Chirmiri Area. He further submits that compassionate appointment and other monetary benefits can be extended only on the basis of nomination or a valid succession certificate. He, however, submits that if the petitioner submits a fresh representation before the competent authority, the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment and payment of other monetary benefits shall be considered in accordance with law within a stipulated period of 30 days.
3. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents appended with the petition.

In view of the submission made by learned counsel for the respondent/SECL, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation before the competent authority, i.e., the Chief General Manager, SECL, Chirmiri Area, within a period of 30 days from today. In the event such representation is submitted within the aforesaid period,
3 respondent No. 2 shall consider and decide the same, strictly in accordance with law, within a further period of 30 days from the date of receipt of such representation.
5. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of. Sd/-
