At the outset, the learned counsel for the parties submits that the matter pertains to challenge of the appointment of the respondent No. 6 as the Deputy Registrar of Tezpur University. Further, challenge has been made by the petitioner with regard to the constitution of the Selection Committee by alleging that the same is not in conformity with Ordinance 33 of the University. However, this Court has been informed that the respondent No. 6 has resigned and was released from his post on 05th December, 2025. Such being the position, it only appears that the post will have to be again filled up by initiating a fresh process for selection as provided by the Ordinances and Rules of the University. As such, the writ petition stands closed. The petitioner would be at liberty to participate in the process of selection as Page No.# 3/3 and when the same is undertaken by the University.
