By means of the present Criminal Miscellaneous Application, the applicant seeks a direction to the learned Ist Additional Sessions Judge, Roorkee, District Haridwar, to expedite the hearing of Criminal Revision No. 127 of 2022. 3. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the aforesaid Criminal Revision was admitted on 20.04.2022 and the opposite party entered appearance on 29.11.2022; however, despite lapse of considerable time, the same has not yet been adjudicated. It is further submitted that the matter has been repeatedly listed, but no effective progress has taken place. 4. Learned counsel further submits that the pendency of the revision is causing serious prejudice to the applicant, as the proceedings arise out of a criminal matter affecting his valuable rights and liberty. It is contended that undue delay in disposal defeats the very purpose of filing the revision and is contrary to the settled principle of expeditious disposal of criminal proceedings. 5. Considering the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the applicant and having regard to the fact 2026:UHC:2612 that the Criminal Revision pertains to the year 2022 and remains pending for a substantial period without final adjudication, this Court is of the view that the matter deserves to be expedited in the interest of justice. 6. Accordingly, the learned Ist Additional Sessions Judge, Roorkee, District Haridwar, is directed to make all endeavours to hear and decide Criminal Revision No. 127 of 2022 expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months’ from the date of production of certified copy of this order, without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. 7. With the aforesaid observations and directions, the present Criminal Miscellaneous Application stands disposed of.
