In this Writ Petition, petitioners are assailing the Order dated 31.05.1976 in case No. LRF.1940, passed by respondent No.5 - Land Tribunal, as per Annexure-A. 2. Sri. Spoorthy Hegde N., learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for respondent No.5 - Land Tribunal, submitted that there delay of nearly five decades in filing the Writ Petition and accordingly, the Writ Petition cannot be accepted. 3. On the other hand, Sri. B.J. Eswarappa, learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the petitioners, submitted that sufficient cause has been shown to condone the delay. 4. Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties, taking into account that the impugned order is passed on 31.05.1976 and sufficient cause has not been shown to condone the delay of nearly five decades. Hence, following the declaration of law made by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30242 WP No. 108 of 2026 case of Shivamma (Dead) by LRs Vs. Karnataka Housing Board and Others reported in 2025 SCC OnLine SC 1969 and in H. Guruswamy and Others Vs. A. Krishnaiah, since deceased by LRs, reported in 2025 SCC OnLine SC 54, as there is no roper explanation to condone the delay of five decades, the Writ Petition is dismissed.
