Petitioners were engaged as Multi Tasking Staff in Income Tax Department, through contractor, at Bazpur in the year 2014-15. According to them, they have discharged their duties to the best of their abilities and all the Authorities in Income Tax Department are satisfied with their work and performance, yet they have been disengaged from service without any rhyme or reason. The month of disengagement of petitioner, as is informed by learned counsel for the petitioner, is December 2022. 4. Petitioners have sought a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents to consider their case for re- engagement. 5. Mr. Hari Mohan Bhatia, learned counsel for the respondents submits that petitioners were engaged through contractor and concerned contractor has disengaged them. He, however, submits that if petitioners make fresh representation to Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, Bareilly, the same shall be considered and decided expeditiously. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with liberty to petitioners to 2026:UHC:2022 make representation to Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, Bareilly within two weeks from today. If they make representation(s) within stipulated time, the same shall be decided, as per law, within six weeks thereafter.
