Mr. Debojyoti Deb, Ms. Somdyuti Parekh …for the Petitioner Ms. Sipra Majumdar, Mr. Naren Ghosh Dostidar …for the State
The petitioner alleges that unauthorised construction has been carried out at the behest of respondent nos. 8 to 10. It appears from the record that, pursuant to the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the Pradhan of the Basanti Gram Panchayat convened a meeting on September 5, 2025. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that no further steps have thereafter been taken by the Panchayat authorities. Respondent nos. 8 to 10 are not represented. Let the affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner be kept on record. In view of the foregoing, there is no necessity to keep the present writ petition pending. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon the Pradhan, Basanti Gram Panchayat (respondent no. 7), to conclude the proceedings initiated pursuant to the notice dated August 29, 2025, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one month from the date of
2 communication of this order. Accordingly, WPA 2446 of 2026 stands disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
