The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that respondent Nos.1 and 2, be directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 01.01.2013, for an entire extent of seven acres comprised in Sy. Nos.116 of Gollahalli Village and 145 of Guvvalakanahalli Village. 3. The petitioner claims that he was granted two leases for quarrying of ordinary building stone: i) Q.L. No.61 to an extent of 1.20 acres falling in Sy. No.116 of Gollahalli Village, - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:29065-DB WP No. 17532 of 2026 Chikkaballapura Taluk and ii) Q.L. No.63 to an extent of 03 acres falling in Sy. Nos.116 of Gollahalli Village and 145 of Guvvalakanahalli Village, Chikkaballapura Taluk. 4. The petitioner had applied for an area of seven acres which includes 04 acres and 20 guntas of the existing lease. Although, the application was made on 01.01.2013, the petitioner claims that he is entitled to the benefit sought for, in view of Rule 8- R (5) of the Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1994 [KMMC Rules], which was introduced by substitution with effect from 02.01.2025. 5. The learned Additional Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the Government of Karnataka is the concerned authority, which is empowered to consider an application under Rule 8-R (5) of the Karnataka Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1994. However, no representation or application has been made to the said authority. 6. At this stage, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would submit a representation to the Government of Karnataka.
