Petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: "WHEREFORE, the Petitioner pray that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to: I. Issue a direction to the Respondent No.2 Bank to unfreeze the Current account of the Petitioner and permit the Petitioner to use and operate No.0126202400002001, its bank having account bearing IFSC:KARB0000126, maintained in the Karnataka Bank, Banaswadi Branch, Bangalore, Karnataka. - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:28898 WP No. 10284 of 2026 II. Grant such other and further orders as this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case in the interest of justice and equity". 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that though a lien to only an extent of Rs.94,118.93/- has been initiated against the account of the petitioner, the respondent bank has frozen the entire bank. As held by this Court in Sri.Madhu vs. The Indusind Bank Ltd represented by the Branch Manager1, the respondent - bank can only mark a lien and freeze the account only in respect of the order which have been received by them. 3. Admittedly, in the present matter, the lien is only to an extent of Rs.94,118.93/- only. Hence, the entire account could not have been frozen. 4. Hence, I pass the following: 1 W.P.NO.38362/2025 - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:28898 WP No. 10284 of 2026 ORDER (i) Writ Petition is allowed. (ii) Respondent No.2 - bank is permitted to mark lien only to an extent of Rs.94,118.93/- on the account of the petitioner and permit the petitioner to operate the account as regard to the balance amounts subject to the petitioner furnishing indemnity and such other documentation as required as security for the said amounts. (iii) Needless to say in the event of the respondent - bank receiving any further lien orders or frozen order, this order would not come in the way of respondent No.2 - bank enforcing the same.
