By way of the instant petition, the petitioner prays for the following relief:- “10.1 This Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct RAHUL JHA Digitally signed by RAHUL JHA Date: 2026.06.23 17:11:29 +0530 2 the respondent no. 2 to consider and decide the pending appeal under section 262 of Chhattisgarh Police Regulation of the petitioner at the earliest, in the interest of justice. 10.2 This Hon'ble Court may further be pleased to pass an appropriate order or issue writ as deemed fit under the facts and circumstances of the case.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had earlier challenged the order dated 16.02.2026 by filing WPS No. 2511/2025, which was dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to avail the appropriate statutory remedy. Pursuant thereto, the petitioner preferred an appeal under Section 262 of the Chhattisgarh Police Regulation before respondent No.2. However, despite the appeal being pending, the same has not yet been decided. Learned counsel confines his prayer to a direction for expeditious disposal of the said appeal. 3. Learned State counsel submits that the appeal is pending consideration and the same shall be decided within a period of 45 days. 4. Considering the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the petitioner's pending appeal under Section 262 of the Chhattisgarh Police Regulation, strictly in accordance with law, preferably within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the rival claims and all contentions of the parties are left open 3 to be considered by the appellate authority. 6.
