The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following prayers: “10.1 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to call for the entire records which relates to issuance and renewal of Arms license to the petitioner. 10.2 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to issue an appropriate writ by quashing the order impugned dated 22.04.2026 (Annexure P-1) passed by the respondent no.2/Commissioner Raipur Division and consequently the Prescribed authority/ District Magistrate Balodabazar-Bhatapara may kindly be directed to renew the license of 315 Bore Rifle with respect to the petitioner. 10.3 Any other relief which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper may also be passed in favour of the petitioner.” 3. Considering the reliefs claimed in the petition, particularly the challenge to the order dated 22.04.2026 passed by the Commissioner, Raipur Division, and the prayer for renewal of the arms licence, this Court is of the opinion that the controversy does not fall within the scope of a Criminal Writ Petition and the present petition, as framed, is not maintainable. 4. Accordingly, the instant petition is dismissed as withdrawn as not maintainable, with liberty reserved to the petitioner to file a fresh petition before the appropriate Bench, in accordance with law.
