This Court, vide order dated 12.04.2024 passed in MCRC No. 2179 of 2024, while allowing the bail of the petitioners, namely, Balakdas Patre and Sumit Bisi, had expressed its trust that the trial Court would make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. Earlier on three occasions also this Court had granted extension of time for compliance of the order dated 12.04.2024. KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 4. The learned Special Judge (NDPS Act), Saraipali District- Mahasamund (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 13.05.2026 has requested for grant of four month’s additional time for concluding the trial. 5. It transpires from the perusal of the P.U.D. that the case is presently fixed for securing the presence of the accused, Balkadas Patre. The record further reveals that the said accused has remained absent and warrants of arrest are being issued continuously for securing his presence, however, his presence could not be ensured. Owing to the non-appearance of the said accused, further proceedings in the matter could not be undertaken. The P.U.D. further reflects that, earlier, the case against another absconding accused, namely Sumit Bisi, was separated on 15.07.2025 under Section 317(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure and proceedings under Section 299 of the Code of Criminal Procedure were initiated against him, whereby he was declared absconding and a permanent warrant of arrest was issued. In the aforesaid circumstances, the he has sought extension of time and has prayed for grant of a further period of four months for securing the presence of the accused and concluding the trial. 6. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of four months from today. 7. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 8.
