ORDER This Contempt Petition has been filed for the alleged disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.12622 of 2015, dated 18.02.2025, whereby, this Court while quashing the impugned charge memo directed the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the delayed payment of terminal benefits to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. 2. This Contempt Petition has been filed stating that the respondents have paid the interest as directed by this Court and all the terminal benefits, except pension. According to the petitioner, the actual pension, after adjusting the provisional pension was paid to the petitioner 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Cont.P(MD) No.457 of 2026 on different dates, i.e., on 16.05.2019, 10.07.2019 and 29.10.2020, though petitioner was retired from service on 31.05.2015. 3. The respondents have filed counter affidavit and contended that the respondents have paid interest as directed by this Court on all the amounts that are payable by the respondents herein. It is further contended that the pension amount that is not payable by the respondents herein, but the same is payable only by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Employees Pension Fund Trust, but not by the respondents herein. 4. On being asked, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not approached the Pension Fund Trust for payment of interest as directed by this Court. 5. In the circumstances, it cannot be said that the respondents herein have committed any contempt or violated the order passed by this Court on 18.02.2025. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Cont.P(MD) No.457 of 2026 6. In the circumstances, the Contempt petition is dismissed as against the respondents herein.
