Mathur HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE MUNNURI LAXMAN Order 20/04/2026 1. The matter comes up on the application (I.A. No.2/2025) filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for early listing of the case. 2. For the reasons mentioned in the application, the same is allowed, and with the consent of learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties, the matter is taken up and heard for final disposal today itself at this stage. [2026:RJ-JP:16658] (2 of 2) [CW-9104/2025] 3. Originally, the present writ petition has been filed challenging the suspension order dated 13.05.2025 (Annex. 1) as well as the reversion order dated 20.05.2025 (Annex. 31). 4. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submits that the suspension has been revoked pending the writ petition; therefore, the relief regarding the suspension has become infructuous. 5. The only issue in the present writ petition is whether the respondents can order a reversion pending an inquiry. A reversion is an order of punishment which can only be effected after the conclusion of the inquiry, and such an order cannot be passed as a measure pending an inquiry; therefore, the reversion order dated 20.05.2025 is liable to be set aside on the said ground. 6. In view of the above, the present writ petition is allowed, and the reversion order dated 20.05.2025 is set aside. 7. The respondents are at liberty to conclude the inquiry and take appropriate action thereon in accordance with the report. 8. All pending application(s), if any, shall also stand dispose of.
