GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING The Court made the following: 3 MRK,J W.P.No.12640 of 2026 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE MAHESWARA RAO KUNCHEAM WRIT PETITION NO: 12640 of 2026 ORDER:- The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing financial assistance of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only), sanctioned to the Petitioner (Application I.D. No.OV2019122610) for the year 2018-2019 under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana Scheme’ for studying overseas, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The Petitioner had applied for financial assistance under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana Scheme’ for studying overseas under the said scheme for the academic year 2018-2019 and the same was allotted with Application I.D. No.OV2019122610. After due verification, Respondent No.3 selection committee approved the name of the petitioner for the said scheme for payment of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) in favour of the Petitioner for pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) Course at Uclan University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom (UK). Though, the Petitioner had completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) Course, the financial assistance as promised to the Petitioner was not disbursed to him. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 3. Learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.3/Corporation submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts 4 MRK,J W.P.No.12640 of 2026 would be sanctioned, if the Petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:- (i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the Petitioner within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (ii) In the event, the claim of the Petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to the Petitioner within a further period of eight (08) weeks. (iii) There shall be no order as to costs.
