The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to update Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (for short ‘CCTNS’) and expunge/delete his name from active criminal tracking registers/lists in view of acquittal.

The petitioner was implicated in FIR No.109 of 2015 under sections 285, 34 IPC at PS Julana, Jind and FIR No.73 dated 16.06.2017 under sections 354-D, 376, 457 and 506 IPC at PS Women, Jind. He vide judgements dated 18.07.2018 and 24.09.2019 was acquitted by Ld. Trial Court. He preferred representation dated 10.05.2026 to respondent No.3- Superintendent of Police, Jind seeking removal/deletion of his name from criminal tracking registers in light of his acquittal but the same has not been addressed till date.

Learned State Counsel, on instructions from PSI Neelam, submits that entry in the CCTNS has already been made with respect to petitioner’s acquittal, thus, order of this Court is not warranted.
