Accused in Crime No.84/2026 registered by J.C.Nagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offences punishable under Sections 25(1)(A), 27(2) of Arms Act, 1959, is before this Court in this petition filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023, seeking regular bail. 2. Heard the learned Counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.84/2026 was registered by J.C.Nagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the aforesaid offences against the petitioner herein based on the first information dated 06.05.2026 received from Prakash.G.N. - General Manager of Jayamahal Palace Hotel. In the said case, petitioner was arrested on 06.05.2026 and remanded to judicial custody. His bail application filed before the jurisdictional Sessions Court in Crl.Misc.No.4611/2026was rejected on 27.05.2026. In the first information, which was submitted by the General Manager of Jayamahal Palace Hotel, it is stated that petitioner had checked into their hotel on 27.04.2026 and on 28.04.2026 he had checked out of the hotel. When the room in which the petitioner had stayed was being cleaned, the staff of the hotel found a pistol magazine containing live bullets and immediately thereafter, they contacted the petitioner and informed him about the same. In turn, the petitioner informed the management of the hotel that he would come back and collect the article after some days. However, since he did not return, the General Manager of the hotel had approached the police. 5. In the petition, it is stated that petitioner is serving as an Air Force Officer in United States of America and the material on record would also reveal that he is a citizen of the said country. According to the petitioner, inadvertently his pistol magazine containing live bullets was packed in his suit case which he had brought with him when he arrived to India to see his ailing mother. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30108 CRL.P No. 7532 of 2026 6. Investigation of the case is now completed and charge sheet is filed. Considering the nature of allegations found in the charge sheet as well as the maximum punishment for the alleged offences, I am of the opinion that petitioner's prayer for grant of regular bail is required to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order: 7. The petition is allowed. The petitioner is directed to be enlarged on bail in Crime No.84/2026 registered by J.C.Nagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offences punishable under Sections 25(1)(A), 27(2) of Arms Act, 1959, subject to the following conditions: a) Petitioner shall execute personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- with two sureties for the likesum, to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court; b) The petitioner shall appear regularly on all the dates of hearing before the Trial Court unless the Trial Court exempts his appearance for valid reasons; c) The petitioner shall not directly or indirectly threaten or tamper with the prosecution witnesses; - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:30108 CRL.P No. 7532 of 2026 d) The petitioner shall not involve in similar offences in future.
