( 2026:JHHC:22421 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI W.P( C) No. 5460 of 2026 ----- Arun Singh, aged about 63 yrs, s/o Basudev Singh, r/o Ward No. 24, Pandit B.N. Jha Path, Near Ideal School Pokhna, Tilha Deoghar, PO & PS Deoghar, Dist. Deoghar, Jharkhand … Petitioner(s). Versus 1) The State Of Jharkhand 2) Deputy Commissioner, Deoghar, PO & PS Deoghar, Dist. Deoghar, Jharkhand 3) The Deputy Sub Registrar, Deoghar, PO & PS Deoghar, Dist. Deoghar, Jharkhand 4) The Circle Officer, Deoghar, PO & PS Deoghar, Dist. Deoghar, Jharkhand … Respondent(s). CORAM : SRI ANANDA SEN, J. ------ For the Petitioner(s) : Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Advocate For the State : AC to AG …...... 02 /28.07.2026: Considering the nature of order which I intend to pass as there are admitted facts, it is neither necessary to call for counter-affidavit nor to issue notice to the respondents. 2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that petitioner is demanding a Land Possession Certificate (LPC) but the respondents are not providing the said to the petitioner. 3. On query, both the parties submits that there is no law to grant LPC but the revenue officials have mechanized a system and they are demanding the same when a party is desirous of transferring the land or purchasing the same. 4. After hearing the parties, I find that there are several judgments of coordinate bench of this Court passed in W.P (C) No. 1512 of 2020, W.P (C) No.528 of 2023, W.P (C) No. 2495 of 2018 wherein it has been held that there is no provision of grant of Land Possession Certificate (LPC). 5. This court in the case of Narayan Jha Bhagat Vrs. State of Jharkhand & Ors. in WP (C) No.2464 of 2026 has held that respondents cannot insist on production of LPC. 6. Thus, this writ petition stands disposed of, with the direction that the authorities cannot insist on production of land possession certificate from the petitioner.
