1. K B RAMANNA DORA Counsel for the Respondent(S):
1. V V SATISH (SC for APEPDCL) The Court made the following:
ORAL ORDER:
There is no representation on behalf of the Writ Petitioner. 2. Sri Y. Nagendra, learned Counsel representing Sri V.V. Sathish, learned Standing Counsel for APEPDCL, has submitted the Written Instructions furnished by the Assistant Accounts Officer, ERO, Peddapuram dated
08.01.2026. This Written Instruction is taken on record. 3. The Written Instruction would indicate that the Writ Petitioner has approached this Court after committing default in payment of CC bills and that the electricity service was disconnected at that point of time only due to nonpayment of huge amount of arrears. 4. It transpires from record that vide Order dated 01.12.2015, this Court had granted an Interim Order in W.P.M.P.No.49660 of 2015 and in W.P.M.P.No.49661 of 2015 and the said Interim Order is subsisting till date. Having regard to the fact that this Writ Petition is of the year 2015 and the Writ Petitioner would have been enjoying service connection on the strength of the Interim Order passed by this Court (mentioned supra), this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping this Writ Petition pending. 5.
This Court is inclined to dispose of this Writ Petition with a direction that the service connection of the Writ Petitioner may be continued by the Respondents if there is no default and that the Writ Petitioner has cleared all the arrears including the old arrears plus the current arrears. If there are any arrears pending and the Writ Petitioner has not cleared it within the reasonable time that may be granted by the Respondents, the Respondents are at liberty to initiate appropriate action in accordance with law. 3
6. With these observations and directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No order as to costs. 7. Interlocutory Applications, if any, stand closed in terms of this order. ______________________________________ GANNAMANENI RAMAKRISHNA PRASAD, J
