This is an office reference based on a PUD received from the Court of I Civil Judge, Senior Division, Durg, seeking further extension of time for conclusion of trial in Civil Suit No. 02A/2018 (Akhtar Hussain v. Abdul Gaffar Khan & Others). 2. It is stated that this Court, in MCC No. 113/2026, vide order dated 04.02.2026, had granted a further period of four months for conclusion of the trial. However, despite earnest efforts, the trial could not be concluded within the stipulated 3 period owing to various reasons including extensive examination and cross-examination of the parties’ witnesses, pendency of an application seeking framing of additional issues, illness of a witness, and the intervening civil vacation. It is further stated that the evidence of some of the defendants’ witnesses is still to be completed. 3. Considering the reasons assigned by the learned trial Court and the stage of the proceedings, the request appears to be bona fide and deserves to be allowed. 4. Accordingly, a further period of five months from the date of this order is granted to the learned trial Court for conclusion of the trial and disposal of Civil Suit No. 02A/2018. 5.
