By the present writ petition, the petitioners seek quashment of the impugned advertisement dated 28/07/2025 (Annexure P-1) issued by respondent No.3 and further seek a direction to the respondents to permit the petitioners to continue as Guest Lecturers till regular appointments are made. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that during the pendency of the present writ petition, petitioner No.1 has been permitted to continue as Guest Lecturer. He further submits that the current academic session is coming to an end on 30/06/2026. Since a new academic session is likely to commence thereafter, learned counsel submits that the grievance of the petitioners would be adequately redressed if the writ petition is disposed of with an observation that the respondent authorities shall follow the applicable rules, regulations and guidelines governing recruitment to the post of Guest Lecturer. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the State submits that the recruitment of Guest Lecturers is being made strictly in accordance with the rules, regulations and policy guidelines framed by the State Government and the same procedure shall also be followed for the ensuing academic session. 4. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents appended with the writ petition. 5. Having considered the entire facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the parties, 3 particularly the statement made on behalf of the State that the recruitment of Guest Lecturers shall be made in accordance with the applicable rules, regulations and policy guidelines, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction that the respondent authorities shall follow the rules, regulations and policy governing recruitment of Guest Lecturers for the ensuing academic session. 6. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the authorities shall proceed with the appointment of Guest Lecturer as per the extant policy. 7.
